Max's Journey

Canyon Mist Vineyard, Ellensburg, WA - 2010

This is really where I got my start in wine. I found a job on Craigslist as a "Vineyard Worker" and experienced my first "damn so this is what wine is all about" moment drinking a glass of Viognier with the vineyard owner.

Central Washington University

Ellensburg, WA - 2011

In 2011 the wine virus started to grow in me. Pictured above is a post-class blind tasting session at a local wine shop. I used to love to try and guess the wines in a blind format.

Italy Study Abroad - 2012

I studied abroad in Tuscany in 2012 with a group of classmates. I learned a lot, drank a lot, and ate a lot. I got one of the best haircuts in my life and had a good drinking a Peroni on the streets of Rome as one should when in Rome

Central Washington University

Ellensburg, WA - 2012

I graduated from Central Washington University with a B.S. in Global Wine Studies. I was super lucky because I got to taste wine in class at 9 am for two years for college credit! It still blows my mind that this was a thing...

I worked at Gilbert Cellars during college. This was my first experience working behind a wine bar. It was a fun to work here with some really cool people!

New Zealand Wineries LTD.

marlborough, nz - 2014

I traveled to New Zealand to work in the wine cellar at New Zealand Wineries Ltd. and gain experience making Pinot Noir, which was lucky for me because the vast majority of NZ produces wine from the famous white wine grape Sauvignon Blanc. After the harvest was over I traveled around the South Island in a camper van and had some incrediblly valuable experiences.

Corliss Estates

Walla walla, wa - 2014

I arrived in Walla Walla in July of 2014. I was a cellar hand at Corliss Estates. Here I continued my education in wine-making. As you can see in the pics we had a good time for sure!

Pete's Wine Shop

Seattle Washington - 2015,16

Pete's Wine Shop, it was my first experience in a wine retail setting. I'm thankful for insight and wine knowledge I gained working with the staff and learning the retail ropes. Pictured with me above is my wine sensei Joel Dhanapal. Joel has been a wine specialist for over 30 years!

Big Table Farm

Gaston, or - 2016

Big Table Farm is its own little whimsical world in Gaston, Oregon in the Willamette Valley. I don't have enough good things to say about this place and the people here. Simply put, I'm proud to have been a part of the wine-making experience in 2016 : )
